Best Buy Leaks Black Friday Ad; Will Pass Out Tickets to Avoid Consumer Stampede

bestbuy

Best Buy’s Black Friday ad has leaked, which means it’s time to do some serious itinerary planning for the big day. See, I like me and my fiancee set up a full contingency plan based on what we want the most for us, then comes gifts for others. Come on, we need to set priorities people! Strategy is the name of the game on Black Friday.

So Best Buy has some moderately cool deals, especially in the video game department, but nothing mind-blowing. Though what might be notable is that Best Buy is not going to allow for anyone to get hurt this year because of their doorbuster deals. Apparently they don’t take “death by stampede” lightly. All doorbuster sales will be handled via tickets, which will be passed out up to two hours before the 5 am door openings. Hit the jump for a full-list of Black Friday Best Buy deals. Doorbusters are followed by an asterisk.

Joystick Built Inside of NES Console

NES-Console-Joystick-Mod_1

Even if my NES were still around, I doubt it would work. There’s something about sitting around in a dusty closet that doesn’t work well with the functioning hardware of gaming consoles. But don’t let it’s inability to work get you down. There are still plenty of possibilities.

The NEStickle is a Sanwa joystick, including buttons, built right inside of an old defunct NES console. The stick with compatible with Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and even Windows, Mac and Linux machines. While the NEStickle is certainly not the most space conscious gadget, if nothing else it’s an awesome example of console recycling.

LEGO Minifig Wants To Take A Chomp Out Of Your Apple MacBook

minifig-macbook

I sort of feel bad. The LEGO minifig trying to eat my MacBook is clearly starving. Why else would you attempt to eat a perfectly good electronic? On the other hand, I’d much prefer my MacBook not have any further bite marks, barring the original bite mark of the Apple logo.

But no, I’ve had enough of this. My MacBook never did anything to warrant biting. Just go away minifig. You’re adorable and all, but enough’s enough. You can grab your own minifig MacBook decal for $14.

OS Calculators Reaffirm the Fact That You Still Use a PC

os-calculators-1

…but don’t worry, they’re available in the Mac OSX flavor as well. These OS Calculators recreate the experience of using your OS’s stock calculator app, even when you’re away from your computer.

A Mintpass designer recently showed off these OS Calculator concepts. Both models similarly clones its OS counterpart. These calculators will almost certainly never exist, but hey, worth checking out anyway, just in case they do.

LEGO Glass Elevator: Where the Hell is Wonka?

glass-elevator

I was expecting a little Willy Wonka action with this LEGO brick glass elevator model but, alas, there is no Wonka in sight. I don’t give a rat’s ass if Charlie gets his lifetime supply of chocolate or not. This elevator is definitely lacking some Gene Wilder action.

Horse Used As Live Anatomical Model

horse-anatomy

Gillian Higgins offers Equine Lecture Demonstrations, helping to educate the world on proper equine care, a skill that every human should undoubtedly master. Tired of relying on simple text and images, Higgins decided to use a real horse as a live anatomical model.

One side of the horse showcases the skeletal structure, the other side displays the muscle. It takes four hours to apply the paint to a horse for their little anatomical show. Ok… which part is edible? Om nom nom.

Darth Tut T-Shirt Celebrats the Antiquity of Star Wars

darthtut1

Star Wars wasn’t kidding when it said “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.” Those films took place a LONG, LONG time ago. So long ago that Darth Vader was apparently buried as the pharaohs of ancient Egypt were buried; mummified and decked out in a special Vader sarcophagus.

The new tomb was unveiled by Egypt’s antiquities master Zahi Hawass, single handily, just like every other discovery ever made… ever. Seriously, though, have you ever gotten a load of this Hawass character? He demands inclusion in every major Egyptian discovery. Crazy, man. Much like other TeeFury shirts, this design will only be available today. So rushing is the name of the game.

Homemade Cardboard PC Case is Probably Flammable

cardboard-pc

Perhaps the greenest and most flammable case mod we’ve ever seen, aside from the UbuntuBox, the “Recompute” cardboard PC case shows off how sustainability can not only be cheap, but can ignite your whole house in flames as well.

Even if there is a cooling fan, and even if the power supply and mother board are kept at separate ends of the PC, this thing is going to generate plenty of heat.
