HRP-3 Promet Mk-II: Blue-collar by day, militant rescue bot by night

We’ve seen robots made for both blue-collar duties and military jobs, but not one that can truly do both. The HRP-3 Promet Mk-II can bypass heavy rains and maintain a basic rescuing operation, yet showed off its softer side at the Kawada Industries press conference today.

Promet took the opportunity to display his skills with a screwdriver, screwing in some loose screws around the office. Sometimes referred to as Ma-kun, the 5’3″, 150 pound bot’s third edition is made more versatile by toughening up the bot’s skin so that the workforce is no longer the only place where it could service us. — Andrew Dobrow
