Hands-Free Umbrella from Ryo Masaki

The New York Museum of Modern Art (better known as MoMA) is showcasing some of Japan’s finest talent, beginning with Ryo Masaki. Though Masaki designed this beautiful hands-free umbrella back in 2005, it’s only recently become available exclusively from MoMA.
Part of the ongoing Destination: Japan product offering, the umbrella features various heart patterns on the umbrella itself. Instead of a conventional umbrella handle, there’s a bendable, shapeable rubber piece that’s designed to wrap around the carrier’s shoulder. At $50, it’s a little on the expensive side but depending on your situation and where you live, the benefits may outweigh the cost.
