What are babies known for? Mainly pooping and screaming. That’s just the nature of the early human life. And who can blame them? The only problem is that the screaming is almost impossible to decipher through the human year. To us, it’s all just screaming. But apparently there are at least five different types of cries and the Cry Translator iPhone app claims it can distinguish between them all.

The Cry Translator helps decode the mysterious yiping of your newborn, dividing the scream’s cause into one of five basic categories: hungry, sleepy, annoyed, stressed, bored. It might be hard to believe, but the app claims it can “reduce overall infant crying.” And for $9.99, that’s a little piece of heaven for new parents.

If he has trouble squeezing you in, here’s a nice back-up plan. The $.99 iPhone app Car Finder uses augmented reality to help you find your car. Car Finder guides you to your car using easy to follow walking instructions and even marks your spot with a little icon. Now all you have to do is remember to actually set the app before you leave your car.

…but don’t worry, they’re available in the Mac OSX flavor as well. These OS Calculators recreate the experience of using your OS’s stock calculator app, even when you’re away from your computer.

A Mintpass designer recently showed off these OS Calculator concepts. Both models similarly clones its OS counterpart. These calculators will almost certainly never exist, but hey, worth checking out anyway, just in case they do.

It’s barely been a year since the App Store opened its metaphorical doors and yet developers have not ceased to continue their plot to create an app for every damn problem or non-problem you might or might not be facing. 100,000 apps later and here we are. We have apps to help you look up Asian girls’ skirts, apps to help you get jailbait porn and of course about half of these apps are some sort of variation of a farting sound machine.

While the app creation process has certainly slowed down from its fervent beginnings, hundreds of apps are still released every single day. The App Store has become a pretty incredible result of what innovation can achieve if done right.

So you think you’re real smooth jailbreaking your iPhone, huh? Really pulled the wool over the eyes of Apple, you did. Dutch jailbreakers beware. A hacker from the Netherlands was recently able to conive a series of Dutch iPhone users into using his software to “jailbreak” their device. When the supposed jailbreak is complete and the phone is rebooted, users receive this message: “Important Warning: You iPhone’s been hacked because it’s really insecure! Please visit doiop.com/iHacked and secure your iPhone right now! Right now, I can access all your files. This message won’t disappear until your iPhone’s secure.” Riiiiiiight. D’oh!

Users are asked to deposit $5 into a PayPal account in return for a promised solution for unhacking the device, most likely just a factory reset of the phone. This is a warning to all you jailbreakers out there. Shit can happen. Be safe. The Force is with you.

Sometimes, seeing really is believing. In the case of the seven patty Windows 7 Whopper monster from Japan we talked about yesterday, I really just had to see it for myself.

Alas, proof is in the photographic pudding. The Windows 7 Whopper is about the same height as an iPhone and twice as caloric (and remember kids, the iPhone is made almost exclusively of butter). I’m oddly hungry and utterly disgusted at the same time. I’m completely disgusted at the lack of cheese on this sandwich. Now, I wonder whether a U.S. Burger King would spring at the chance to make one of these?

Windows fans. If you want to show your Microsoft OS pride, what more accurate way is there than the classic BSOD, probably the most common sight you see.

The Blue Screen of Death Belt advertises the most famous fuck-up in OS history, right where it should be. Only inches from your Windows-loving vag. I so could not imagine a world without a Windows user to make fun of. It’s alright. There will always be something blue standing in their way. It’s just tradition.

A few days ago, geohat released his updated Blackra1n app which promised a 30-second jailbreak for all of the Apple touch devices. Some people, including myself, had some issues with the updated app, some reporting that the app left their device stalled in restore mode. The Dev-Team has released their slightly-less user friendly, albeit more reliable, PwnageTool 3.1.4 for jailbreaking all 3.1.2 updated devices.

Blackra1n claims to be a 30-second jailbreaking tool for all devices running the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware. I didn’t have much success when I ran the app, but a lot of people seem to be having more luck than I.

The Blackra1n blog warns that 3G or 3GS users who require their phones to be unlocked should not upgrade to 3.1.2 just yet as their phones will no longer be unlocked, pretty much transforming their devices into an  iPod Touch. Blackra1n also does not hacktivate your device.
