They’ve just announced their newest product — wristwatches that feature the well-known Android logo character.

The watches are retailing for $59.99, and are available in both black and white. The watches don’t have any special features or enhancements — unless you count their ability to tell you the time.

Branded items usually have a niche market of fans of the particular franchise. Since Android has quite a bit of popularity among tech and gadget consumers, this watch design does have the potential to be well-received.

Aside from the Android watches, Google is also offering watches with their company logo, as well as the logo for their Chrome internet browser.

iPad 3 Rumored for March 2012 http://www.gearfuse.com/ipad-3-rumored-for-march-2012/ http://www.gearfuse.com/ipad-3-rumored-for-march-2012/#comments Fri, 27 Jan 2012 20:27:41 +0000 Carolyn Glatz http://www.gearfuse.com/?p=34768 ipad3 rumor iPad 3 Rumored for March 2012It’s a new year, and we all know what that means — more Apple rumors from dubious sources. Actually, this latest rumor about the iPad 3 actually seems likely, citing early March as the release date for the next-generation iPad.

If this rumor were true, it would mean that the iPad 3 would probably have its launch event held sometime in early February.

If the iPad 3 were to be released in March, it would be roughly a year from when the iPad 2 was released.

I wonder how Apple’s consumer market would handle having their iPad 2 being “outdated” after only being on the market for a year?

Or maybe the homicidal robots from Isaac Asimov? Well, this cute robotic desk accessory is not intimidating in the least. In fact, it’s downright cute.

Produced by manufacturing company Tosy, the DiscoRobo will dance in response to music. It even has heart-shaped adorable LED eyes just to let you know how much it loves you.

Not many technical details about the DiscoRobo have been released, and we aren’t even sure when it will be available to consumers. However, since there are already several videos of the DiscoRobo in action, we’re hoping it’s soon.

Sony PS Vita Sells 321,000 Units in 48 Hours http://www.gearfuse.com/sony-ps-vita-sells-321000-units-in-48-hours/ http://www.gearfuse.com/sony-ps-vita-sells-321000-units-in-48-hours/#comments Tue, 20 Dec 2011 10:26:17 +0000 Carolyn Glatz http://www.gearfuse.com/?p=34730 ps vita Sony PS Vita Sells 321,000 Units in 48 HoursIf you had any doubts about the popularity of the newly released Playstation Vita handheld console in Japan, Sony has just released some sales figures that will make you think otherwise.

It’s been two days since the Playstation Vita officially launched in Japan. Sony has reported that they’ve currently sold over 321,000 units so far. While this doesn’t match the two-day sales of Nintendo’s 3DS (which sold around 50,000 more units in 48 hours), it’s still great news for Sony’s bottom line.

Considering that some US residents have been planning to import the Japanese Vita, it would be interesting to know how many of these sales were to customers outside of Japan.

‘Reverse’ Sunglasses Help You Beat the Winter Blues http://www.gearfuse.com/reverse-sunglasses-help-you-beat-the-winter-blues/ http://www.gearfuse.com/reverse-sunglasses-help-you-beat-the-winter-blues/#comments Thu, 15 Dec 2011 04:58:43 +0000 Carolyn Glatz http://www.gearfuse.com/?p=34591 reverse sunglasses Reverse Sunglasses Help You Beat the Winter BluesAre you one of thousands of people who suffer from depression during the winter? The ‘winter blues’ are an actual documented medical condition, which occurs due to the shorter day length during the winter months. However, it looks like one company has come up with a pretty interesting gadget that could offer a solution.

Startup company SEQINETIC has developed what could only be classified as ‘reverse sunglasses’ to help beat the winter blues. The glasses help combat depression by projecting simulated daylight onto the user. A reflector diffuses 6 powerful LED lights, creating the illusion of sunlight.

However, right now these glasses are still in concept mode. If you want to snag a pair of these glasses, you have to pledge $55 to SEQINETIC. After the company reaches its $8,000 funding goal, these glasses will be selling to the public for $80.

MIT, Harvard Researchers Create ‘Dragonbot’ Intelligent Robot http://www.gearfuse.com/mit-harvard-researchers-create-dragonbot-intelligent-robot/ http://www.gearfuse.com/mit-harvard-researchers-create-dragonbot-intelligent-robot/#comments Mon, 12 Dec 2011 14:37:58 +0000 Carolyn Glatz http://www.gearfuse.com/?p=34617 dragonbot MIT, Harvard Researchers Create Dragonbot Intelligent RobotEver dream about having your very own intelligent robot? How about an intelligent robot that’s also an Android-based dragon?

Researchers at MIT, Harvard and Northeastern University have created an incredible new robot prototype that actually simulates a pretty high level of intelligence. The robot uses an Android phone for its “brain”, which is connected to a virtual cloud. By using this cloud-based brain, the Dragonbot has the ability to learn new information from other robots.

In addition to this, Dragonbot has extremely well-developed skills at recognizing language and responding to visual cues.

Of course, Dragonbot is still in early prototype stages, and probably won’t be available to consumers for quite some time. However, with this level of design, it’ll probably be fairly expensive when it’s finally released to the public.

What You Need to Do to Get a HP Touchpad for $99 on eBay http://www.gearfuse.com/what-you-need-to-do-to-get-a-hp-touchpad-for-99-on-ebay/ http://www.gearfuse.com/what-you-need-to-do-to-get-a-hp-touchpad-for-99-on-ebay/#comments Fri, 09 Dec 2011 17:29:31 +0000 Carolyn Glatz http://www.gearfuse.com/?p=34609 hp touchpad firesale What You Need to Do to Get a HP Touchpad for $99 on eBayIt seems that a few people are a bit confused about exactly how HP’s sale on their Touchpad Tablets will go down today. Here’s what we know – and how you can improve your chances of getting one.

  • The sale starts at 7pm EST (6pm CDT, 5pm MDT, 4pm PST). In a memo that was supposedly leaked from HP, the sale will be announced first to employees, and then to the public – in order to give employees a chance at a Touchpad first. Looks like that probably won’t happen, considering this info is all over the web.
  • The 16GB model will be $99, and the 32GB model will be $149.
  • To buy one of these HP Touchpads, you will need a Paypal Account (with your correct shipping and billing address), as well as an eBay Account in good standing. You will not be able to check out without these two things.
  • Before attempting to purchase, take the time to link your Paypal to your eBay account, which will save you time once the sale goes live.
  • Each user will only be allowed to add two HP Touchpads to their cart – per eBay account.
  • These are ‘refurbished’ HP Touchpads, not the new models.

Well, that’s all the info we have at the moment. Good luck!

Apparently, there’s a rumor that this coveted gadget will be launching on December 15th.

According to tech blog Droid Life, Verizon has been finally giving its employees information about the December 15th “launch date”. If you remember correctly, the previous rumors about the launch date for the Nexus claimed that it would be released on December 12th.

This rumor is apparently sourced from a “dozen” different sources, which might actually lend it some credibility compared to previous rumors.

Hopefully, this means that the Galaxy Nexus is actually ready for consumer markets.
