Clear the Clutter: LowKey Computer Stand

lowkeystand1

Those of you who recently bought a new iMac are probably in love with it. However, I think you’ll agree that unplugging and plugging in USB devices left and right can become a pain in the ass. Enter the LowKey Stand, a stand that matches the iMac in both looks and usability.

On the front, you’ll find room to store that brushed aluminum keyboard as well as a 4-port USB hub. Having those extra USB ports in the front will prove a lifesaver for those of you with one too many cocks. The only downfall with the LowKey Stand is that it can support 35 pounds max, so don’t go throwing your CRT monitor on there. $60 and it’s yours.

Fujitsu’s New “Zero-Watt” Monitor Uses No Power On Standby

Out to save the world, are ya? No, no, don’t start shoveling your propaganda down our throats. We get it. You have your hybrids and we have our Hummers. But here’s a product we both can agree on: Fujitsu’s “Zero-Watt” Monitor. It claims to use absolutely no power when the display is in stand-by mode, which means two things: lower power usage and lower utility bills.

A nifty little switch automatically turns off the power of the monitor when your computer goes idle. When the PC becomes active again, so does the monitor, which is then powered back on once the computer emits a signal. You’ll be able to get your own personal “Zero-Watt” sometime in the summer months of this year for around the same price as a conventional monitor.

Liquid Cooled Motorcycle Case Mod: Green With Envy

sli_machine.jpg

Forget about the fact that this is even a PC, but even if this were a real motorcycle, the green LED glow would capture my attention. Now, imagine being able to have this Motorcycled Case Mod in your office or computer den.

This liquid-cooled Motorcycle Case holds the tradition of other vehicle themed case mods, but goes completely overboard with the modding, leaving the PC as just a footnote on the rump of the bike. (more…)

Apple Being Sued For Failure To Deliver Millions Of Colors

imac.jpg

Apple’s latest 20″ iMac display (you know the one we mean, with the super thing keyboard) offers to produce an image with millions of colors, yet the Cupertino crew is now being sued, reportedly, because the 20 incher only offers a blasphemous 262,144 true colors. The Texas resident who filed the suit, Chandra Sanders, claims that other colors are “produced through a technological trick of showing several similar shades at high speed.”

Brian Kabateck of LA-based Kabateck Brown Kellner, the represented firm which is suing Apple for the false promises says “beneath Apple’s good-guy image is a corporation that takes advantage of its customers. Our goal is to help those customers who were deceived and make sure Apple tells the truth.” We’d like to point out that the iMac 24″ screen does in fact offer millions of colors, 16.7 million to be exact, of which only 9.7 million can be seen by the human eye. — Andrew Dobrow

Epic Pink Floyd “The Wall” PC Case Mod

wallpcmod.jpg

You could say that all in all, this PC case mod is just another brick in the wall, but we would have to fully disagree with you. This Pink Floyd “The Wall” PC Case mod is not merely a new skin, but a fully-functioning piece of art all on its own.

Totally custom made, The Wall PC reminds me of the days where I would sit around listening to Pink Floyd’s classic album on repeat. Using imagery from both the film and the album itself, this PC is one that not only looks hot as hell, but will add some conceptual modern art spark to whatever room it’s showcased. PC mod, I wish you were here. Hit the jump for a bunch more awesome pics. (more…)

Double-Sided Transforming LCD Display Steals Our Heart

common-monitor_54.jpg

For all of you who haven’t had the chance to upgrade to a flat-screen LCD display yet (heaven forbid), you might want to wait a little bit longer. At least if anything like this product has a future. This conceptual LCD can divide into two back-to-back monitors if your family doesn’t want to watch the same picture you want to watch.

Though, if you and your peeps can compromise on one program, the display can be folded out for one magnificently large wide-screened image. There’s no real information or specs yet for this bad boy, and frankly, I don’t even know if it’s possible to produce such a screen, but I know this would solve some otherwise violent disputes between my lady friend and I. — Andrew Dobrow

Keyboard Cuts The Middle Man And Packs In A Full PC

keyboard-pc.jpg

The product description claims that this device packs in a full PC into a “normal sized keyboard”. You can tell by looking at this monster that it’s definitely not “normal sized”. Maybe if keyboards have morbidly obese uncle’s? Then possibly the claim could stand some sort of validity.

All nostril flaring aside, even if this keyboard isn’t exactly “normal sized”, the prospect of owning a PC inside of a keyboard sounds promising. Actually, I might have heard of something like that before. It was called a “laptop”. Again, I jest. Pick up your own All-In-One Keyboard PC for between $629 and $1099, depending on the extra crap you want to add-in. Or you can save yourself some trouble and get a MacBook Pro, or wait a few years for something like the Zen PC concept. (more…)

So, what does NVIDIA have in store for the 9800GTX? The leaked specs show the card offering 128 processor cores, a 675MHz core clock, a 1688MHz shader clock, 1100MHz memory clock, not to mention 512MB GDDR3 memory. The card will retail for an estimated $300-$350. — Andrew Dobrow

Keyboard Organizer Says No To Desk Drawers

keyboardorganizer.gif

Normal desk drawers have a habit of turning from organized pictures of productivity into junk drawers in a matter of days. The PS2 Keyboard Desktop Organizer has a little nook for all of your desk odds and ends, while compressing all of the things you need into your desktop keyboard peripheral.

Sure, keyboards can get much thinner than this relativly clunky product. But the extra girth serves a good purpose. You don’t know how much happier you could be without all of that extra clutter. — Andrew Dobrow
