Have $26? Want to get your kid a present that’s both educational and incredibly badass? Pick up this anatomically correct model of a shark. I believe it’s a Great White. It has 20 removable body parts that you can remove and put back similar to a puzzle. Cheesy violin sounds not included. Link

Hulu Launches Desktop App

I love Hulu. Thanks to Hulu, my roommates and I were able to cancel our cable subscription and now watch all our favorite shows on Hulu, save for the HBO and Showtime stuff. Now, in an out-of-the-blue move, Hulu has released a desktop app that lets you watch shows without a web browser. But be warned! I just went to download it and don’t even own a computer fast enough to run the program. Check out these minimum requirements for... Continue reading

Zune HD Hands On

Personally, as a Mac user, I could give two shits about Microsoft’s latest incarnation of its failed digital audio player. But alas, Gizmodo’s Brian Lam got his paws on the Zune HD and says it’s quite the improvement. In fact, he seems to like it more than Apple’s ultra-popular iPod Touch, save for the lack of apps available. Check out the video above. You’ll get to see the animations and the entire UI. Link

First Palm Pre Review Hits The ‘Net

The mysterious Boy Genius is known for getting his hands on cellphones before they’re released. This time around, he’s got a Palm Pre and took plenty of photos to prove it. But big whoop: what’s he think about the device? The Pre feels really good in your hand in terms of size and shape, but there’s a real plasticky aura about it. Additionally, things aren’t looking good for that QWERTY either. And hey, you know we take them keyboards seriously!... Continue reading

Microsoft Sells 30 Millionth Xbox 360

Like it or not, Microsoft has managed to dominate the console market in just a few years. The company just announced that it has sold over 30 million Xbox 360s around the world. In addition to that impressive number, Microsoft has 20 million Xbox Live subscribers. By comparison, Activision-Blizzard’s World of Warcraft has around 12 million. Talk about a cash cow. Link

Dubai Building World’s Tallest Arch Bridge

Oh, Dubai. You built worlds in the ocean, but it wasn’t enough. You scraped the sky and laughed at the clouds, but it wasn’t enough. And you also built the Palazzo Versace, but it isn’t enough. So what’s another $817 million, right? That’s how much it’s going to cost to build the world’s tallest arch bridge. The goal is to have this 12-lane monstrosity finished by 2012. It’s all being designed by the NYC-based architecture firm of Fxfowle. I bet... Continue reading

Google Gives Out Free G2s

Google. Oprah. The two should really sit down for a cup of coffee sometime and talk billions. They actually have a lot in common, believe it or not. Oprah is more accustomed to giving out things like books and cars, but today, Google one upped the queen of daytime TV and gave out free Android-based G2 phones (aka HTC Magic). The recipients? Attendees of Google’s I/O developer conference. Rumor has it that the phone even comes with a SIM card... Continue reading

Poppin’ Wood

Anyone still pumping out Kid Cudi tracks from a traditional speaker setup is really missing out. With this iPod dock that’s shaped like a log, you and your homeboys will be poppin’ wood all night. Dancing and prancing will never feel more right. And to boot, it’s actually made from a real, honest-to-god log. Killer beats. Tree killer beats, that is. Link

Microsoft Confirms Zune HD

I don’t know what kind of crack Microsoft is smoking but it must be hooked on it. Today, the Redmond-based company confirmed that it is indeed working on the Zune HD to compete with not the iPhone, but rather the iPod Touch. It’ll have an OLED touchscreen, HD radio tuner (big whoop) and will use a new Zune Marketplace for purchasing videos and music. The hilarious part, however, lies in the fact that the Zune HD will be powered by... Continue reading
