Geeky Garter Belts Lively Up Your Wedding

geeky-garter1

The garter belt is one of the key elements to a successful wedding reception, second only to a great geeky wedding cake. I remember a time when I was around 7 or 8 that I happened to be the dude that caught the garter and was forced to put it on some old woman. That was not my proudest moment.

I might have been a little more excited and perhaps less scarred for life if I had seen a garter belt such as one of these. It might have shielded my attention from the varicose veins in my near future. The Pac-Man or Stormtrooper Garter Belts are guaranteed to add some life to your budget wedding reception.

Donald Duck Transformer

Disney has already scooped up Marvel and their massive catalog 5,000 comic book characters. But what if Disney moved onto greener pastures and started scooping up toy companies as well? If Hasbro was picked up by Disney, we might start seeing plenty of more toys like this.

The Donald Duck Transformer is both nightmarish (as you contemplate the possible future) and actually, sort of, dare we say, neat? Your second favorite animated duck (because everyone loves Daffy) starts out as an average Bug mobile. But make this duck angry and you’ll feel the unmitigated wrath of pure animated robot rage.

Facebook Movie Script Leaks!

facebook_the_movie

An early draft of Aaron Sorkin’s script for the upcoming Facebook movie has leaked and, big shocker, it doesn’t totally suck! The script mixes in a healthy dose of comedy, with the antagonist being Sean Parker, co-founder of both Napster and Facebook, which we guess makes the protagonist Mark Zuckerberg himself.

Parker is said to come off as sort of a Tyler Durden-esque type character. And not surprisingly, Fight Club director, David Fincher, is among the top names being thrown around to direct the film. Hit the jump for a thoroughly comprehensive review of the script.

Real-Life Transformer Robot Turns Into Motorcycle

OMFG. I was sure this day would never come. And now that it’s here I’m not sure whether I should be thrilled or if I should prepare the construction of my robot world domination safety shelter.

As you can see, the Norton Commando Transformer robot by Steve Twist is a full-on real life Transformer. In only seconds, the coughing Norton bot becomes a functioning motorcycle. You’ve gotta watch the video to believe it.

Apple Patents “Active Packaging” For Charging iPhone and iPod Touch on Shelf

apple-active-packaging-patent

Don’t you hate when you buy a brand-new gadget, take it out of the package, power that sucker on, only to discover that you have about 30 seconds of battery life to play with before the thing is tapped out. Apple, always thinking ahead, has submitted a patent which would allow their iPhone and iPod Touch gadgets to be charged while still in their packaging.

This “active packaging” would allow “power, data, or both power and data to one or more electronic media devices housed within the packaging.” Data too, huh? Does that mean a constant data feed to each device? That would keep all of their devices updated constantly.

Calendar Clock Not Nearly As Fun As It Sounds

calendarclock

Are you ready for a lifetime of boredom?! Rather than sitting and staring at a traditional clock, you know, with its flashy “seconds” and “minutes,” how about giving the Calendar Clock a try?

The clock measures days, months and hours rather than minutes and seconds, so you might have to strain a bit to notice any movement. Sounds like a blast. Totally not a waste of time, at all. If by some inconceivable (you keep saying that word. I don’t think it means what you think it means.) chance that you become bored with the Calendar Clock, give this clock a try.

Worlds.com CEO Wants to Sue Everyone

2_compaq-storeworldscom

If you’re unfamiliar with Worlds.com, you’ll have to read up on the company’s asinine history sometime. The company created some shitty 3-D environment back in the dot-com boom days and because of this, it feels it owns all the patents pertaining to 3-D gaming. Now CEO Thom Kidrin is pulling a real douche move and is looking to sue the makers of Second Life and World of Warcraft.

Right now, NCSoft is in court with Worlds.com, battling over IP rights to games like City of Heroes and Guild Wars. If Worlds.com wins, we could see a lot of trouble on the horizon from websites with shady patents. In the mean time, 1999 called. It wants its shitty websites back.

Cubism: Square Traffic Light Concept

Traffic lights are an annoying but needed accessory to our daily life. When I used to drive, I’d get incredibly irritated with those new traffic lights that don’t show you what color it is until the last possible second. Now Art Lebedev is hoping to switch things up with these colorful, LED-powered square traffic lights. While red, green and yellow lights will be familiar, the shape of them gives them a new look that most drivers would welcome in a heartbeat. Let’s see if Audi can detect these.

What about you? Would you like to see some new traffic lights on your street corner that resemble these?
