Best Buy Leaks Black Friday Ad; Will Pass Out Tickets to Avoid Consumer Stampede

bestbuy

Best Buy’s Black Friday ad has leaked, which means it’s time to do some serious itinerary planning for the big day. See, I like me and my fiancee set up a full contingency plan based on what we want the most for us, then comes gifts for others. Come on, we need to set priorities people! Strategy is the name of the game on Black Friday.

So Best Buy has some moderately cool deals, especially in the video game department, but nothing mind-blowing. Though what might be notable is that Best Buy is not going to allow for anyone to get hurt this year because of their doorbuster deals. Apparently they don’t take “death by stampede” lightly. All doorbuster sales will be handled via tickets, which will be passed out up to two hours before the 5 am door openings. Hit the jump for a full-list of Black Friday Best Buy deals. Doorbusters are followed by an asterisk.

T-Mobile Got The Shit Hacked Out Of It

t-mobile-logo

T-Mobile is confirming today that a hacker (or group of hackers) broke into its systems and pretty much stole every last goddamned file that wasn’t nailed down to the theoretical floor. The hackers themselves posted a message to SecLists.org detailing what they had done and the damage is absolutely brutal.

Like Checkpoint Tmobile has been owned for some time. We have everything, their databases, confidental documents, scripts and programs from their servers, financial documents up to 2009.

We already contacted with their competitors and they didn’t show interest in buying their data -probably because the mails got to the wrong people- so now we are
offering them for the highest bidder.

Great. So if you’re a T-Mobile customer, it’s only a matter of time until your personal information is sold off to some underground group sitting in a Russian cafe. For once it feels good to be on AT&T.

Heavy Rain Is Shaping Up Nicely

heavyrain1

The upcoming Playstation 3 title Heavy Rain is going to be a graphical powerhouse. It’ll not only put the PS3 back on the map, but it’s supposed to be a pretty decent game too, according to sites like IGN, Joystiq and the like. These new screenshots seem to back that notion up. With beautiful coloring and a dark, stormy atmosphere surrounding the entire game, Heavy Rain could easily give the Silent Hill series a run for its money. After the jump, two more beautiful shots.

Noby Noby Boy Coming To iPhone

Noby Noby Boy is a weird bag. I bought it for the Playstation 3 a few weeks ago and have played it intermittently since. I like to get drunk, come home and stretch that penis boy as long as I can get that fucker. After 10 minutes, I upload my length, turn it off and pass out. At this rate, GIRL is never going to get through the solar system. That’s why creator Keita Takahashi has an ace up his sleeve: the iPhone.

Yes, at the Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) this year, Takahashi revealed that everyone’s favorite stretching game will be ported to the iPhone. It’s the perfect kind of simple game for the iPhone and if priced correctly, it’ll flourish. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to rub a Noby Noby out in the shower.

OnLive Gaming Service Might Shake Up Industry

perlman-1

Coming up with a new, viable idea in gaming is a tough challenge. After all, look what happened to the Phantom console after years of promises. A new service from entrepreneur Steve Perlman called OnLive is looking to challenge the home console as we know it.

The basic concept of OnLive is that it takes the powerful game computations that require serious hardware and computes them on a server far from the user’s home. The game is then fed through the Internet into the user’s home to a console of some sort. This will allow gamers to play games in real-time without the need for an install or game disc. Just think about how that would affect services like PSN and Xbox Live. Scary, right? VentureBeat got a preview of the service in action with Crysis and the results are apparently very impressive. Here’s to hoping that OnLive launches with success and a low cost to the consumer.

Want A Killzone 2 Demo Code? Just Ask Sony

killzone2_screenshot_13

Apparently, a lot of people got pissed off about Sony’s little pay-to-play scheme that involved pre-ordering Killzone 2 in order to receive a code for the demo. Yes, the very same codes we gave out the other week. Sony is now trying to save face by offering up a “limited number of downloads” of the demo. The catch is, you’ll have to fire up Playstation Home (ugh) and look for a guy dressed up as a Helghast soldier. Ask him for a code and ye shall receive. This is US-only and the Helghast guy can be found anytime tonight after 9pm EST. Good luck!

MD5 Algorithm Hacked By Playstation 3 Cluster

No joke. The MD5 algorithm, which is used widespread around the web for encryption, has been broken. A group of researchers used a cluster of PS3s to create a forged certificate authority, essentially enabling them to break into SSL-encrypted sites. HTTPS? Gone. There is no security. Sure, most of us don’t have 200 Playstation 3s sitting at home but if something is broken, you have to fix it. If you’re a programmer or coder of some sort, make sure implementing MD5 isn’t on your list of things to do.

A Short Visual History of Video Games

PSFK posted this fantastic motion graphics video from Kyle Downes. It depicts the history of video games from the Odyssey all the way up to today’s next-gen consoles. The 3-D work he did and the typography in the video are top notch. The production style is engaging and the fake British narrator really completes the look. Be sure to give it a peep. It’s only a few minutes long and is quite interesting.
