7-Foot Throne Made Out of Famicom Cartridges

famicom-throne

I’ve debated building a shrine to the NES for years now, but I’ve never actually gotten around to acting on the idea. Spotted over at the Super Potato retro gaming store in Akihabara, Japan, this 7-foot tall throne was made entirely out of Famicom cartridges, creating an apt shrine for the gamer who demands to be the king of his own domain.

OS Calculators Reaffirm the Fact That You Still Use a PC

os-calculators-1

…but don’t worry, they’re available in the Mac OSX flavor as well. These OS Calculators recreate the experience of using your OS’s stock calculator app, even when you’re away from your computer.

A Mintpass designer recently showed off these OS Calculator concepts. Both models similarly clones its OS counterpart. These calculators will almost certainly never exist, but hey, worth checking out anyway, just in case they do.

Proof That The Windows 7 Whopper Exists!

whopper1

Sometimes, seeing really is believing. In the case of the seven patty Windows 7 Whopper monster from Japan we talked about yesterday, I really just had to see it for myself.

Alas, proof is in the photographic pudding. The Windows 7 Whopper is about the same height as an iPhone and twice as caloric (and remember kids, the iPhone is made almost exclusively of butter). I’m oddly hungry and utterly disgusted at the same time. I’m completely disgusted at the lack of cheese on this sandwich. Now, I wonder whether a U.S. Burger King would spring at the chance to make one of these?

Japan Celebrates Windows 7 with the Windows Whopper

bk_poster091014_02

Made with seven patties of pure love, the Japanese Burger King franchise is offering a Windows 7 Whopper, a five inches tall monstrosity. Costing 777 Japanese Yen, eating one of these will make you feel just about as bloated as a Windows-operated PC. Sorry guys, its just too easy.

Yoshi and Mario Wall Hanger

yoshiwallhanging

Made using an inkjet printer, sticker labels and a 1/4? foam board, the Mario Riding Yoshi wall hanging design wants to lick you to death, sort of like a sex-addicted prison-escapee, but now with more reptilian spice.

Watch the mustache, I heard it can leave some rug burn.

Puff! App Brings the Wonder of Upskirts to the iPhone

puff1

Upskirts are sort of a phenomenon in the porn industry, especially the among the Japanese population. Creepy men with hidden cameras scout the streets for unsuspecting ladies and broadcast their unbelievably sexy findings on the web. Watching these videos is sort of a blurry area of the law.

Avoid the legal system by producing your own upskirt shots right on your iPhone. Flick the screen or blow on the speaker and watch as the model gradually unveils their gorgeous cameltoe. Hit the jump for video demonstrations.

Chopsticks Plus One and Two Concept Merges Japanese and American Customs

chopsticks1

I’m always sort of embarrassed asking for chopsticks when I’m at a Japanese restaurant. I can almost hear the server’s thoughts: “Stupid fucking Americans, shitting all over our customs.” Though I’d hear something more like “Ayaaaa ching chong hiiiih arigato Mr. Roboto.”

And in a way, we really are shitting all over their customs. And this Chopsticks Plus One and Two concept doesn’t do much to clean our image. Combining chopsticks, a spoon, a sauce bowl and toothpicks (the essential makings of any American dining experience) these chopsticks make eating Japanese food less traditional, but a hell of a lot easier.

The Anatomy of Domo

domo-anatomy

Anatomical mix master Jason Freeny has created anatomical models for such oddities as balloon animals, gummy bears and now, Japan’s own Domo.

Domo has just been all over the damn place. The last few years, around Halloween,  Domo has been pushed and promoted like crazy. Last year at Target, this year at 7-Eleven, it seems like 2009 is no exception. If you were ever wondering what the little guy looked like without his skin, I guess you finally got your wish.

E-Rope Modular Power Strip

erope1

Power strips usually come in one shape and size. Not much you can do to make a power strip look sexy. The E-Rope concept turns each socket into a modular cube, which allows for assembly into any shape with any number of strips.

E-Rope also helps cut-down on energy consumption. Even when a plug is plugged into the E-Rope socket, it only uses power when it needs too.

Domo Invading Your Local 7-Eleven

domo-seven-eleven-products

This fall 7-Eleven will be rolling out a nationwide promotion featuring Japan’s favorite stop-animation monster, Domo. Everything from cups, to straws, to hot dog cases, even Domo-themed merchandise will be available at 7-Eleven.

It literally looks like Domo came inside of 7-Eleven’s vag and reproduced a bunch of little Domo/7-Eleven offspring. The depth of this promotion is pure madness.
