Best Buy Leaks Black Friday Ad; Will Pass Out Tickets to Avoid Consumer Stampede

bestbuy

Best Buy’s Black Friday ad has leaked, which means it’s time to do some serious itinerary planning for the big day. See, I like me and my fiancee set up a full contingency plan based on what we want the most for us, then comes gifts for others. Come on, we need to set priorities people! Strategy is the name of the game on Black Friday.

So Best Buy has some moderately cool deals, especially in the video game department, but nothing mind-blowing. Though what might be notable is that Best Buy is not going to allow for anyone to get hurt this year because of their doorbuster deals. Apparently they don’t take “death by stampede” lightly. All doorbuster sales will be handled via tickets, which will be passed out up to two hours before the 5 am door openings. Hit the jump for a full-list of Black Friday Best Buy deals. Doorbusters are followed by an asterisk.

Make It Rain, Bitches: Blackra1n 30-Second iPhone 3.1.2 Jailbreak App Goes Live

blackra1n

Blackra1n claims to be a 30-second jailbreaking tool for all devices running the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware. I didn’t have much success when I ran the app, but a lot of people seem to be having more luck than I.

The Blackra1n blog warns that 3G or 3GS users who require their phones to be unlocked should not upgrade to 3.1.2 just yet as their phones will no longer be unlocked, pretty much transforming their devices into anĀ  iPod Touch. Blackra1n also does not hacktivate your device.

iTwinge Adds Tactile Keyboard to iPhone

itwinge1

Many Blackberry users have been holding out on the iPhone because of the device’s lack of a real feel keyboard. The iTwinge adds an actual tactile keyboard to the phone, while making it look uglier than any Blackberry ever released.

Big thumbs got you down? The touchscreen of the iPhone has caused some serious issues for some users who have larger than average fingers. I’ve never had much of a problem thanks to the phone’s auto-correct feature, but I’ve heard that large thumbed users have trouble pressing letters on the touch keyboard, their plump digits leading to double button presses and incorrect letters. iTwinge slips right onto the bottom of the iPhone and seamlessly adds a tactile touch to the device for around $30.

Walmart.com Keeps Their Eye on Amazon, Allows Third Party Retailers

walmart-evil-2

In a move which suggests that Walmart is planning a full-on merchant battle with Amazon sometime in the future, Walmart.com has announced that a select group of third-party merchants will now be allowed to sell their products through the site.

All in all, this is a great move by Walmart and something potentially something to worry about for Amazon and eBay. The new plan adds over one million new products to Walmart.com’s catalog. Walmart has made it clear though that the third-party merchants, unlike with Amazon, were hand-picked by the Walmart team.

Apple MacBook Touch Details Revealed?

macbook-touch

A reliable source has apparently spilled some details about Apple’s rumored upcoming MacBook Touch. The source touts the Touch as a “fusion” device, combining the worlds of the MacBook and the iPhone with a 9″ touch screen.

An iPhone emulator will allow users to buy and use applications from the App Store. The source claims there will be no camera, which seems slightly unlikely if the Touch is to include iSight, such as the MacBook notebooks do. Apps downloaded on the Touch will be allowed duplication with only the iPhone 3GS, and on only one device per Touch. Hit the jump for more.

A Robot with an iPhone for a Head

iphone-robot

Here is one bot that won’t be forced to sing “If I Only Had a Brain…” to any absent-minded wizard. The bo’ts head is composed of a fully-functioning iPhone 3GS, its body composed of a Kondo KHR-2HV bot. The iPhone connects to the body via a special dock.

Dubbed Robochan, the iPhone serves as the bot’s face and brain, simulating facial expressions and acting as a controller for the robot’s cute little dancing. Check out a video of this adorable little bugger after the jump.
