My girlfriend has been begging me for an original NES system for Christmas. Now if I can just get her a custom painted pink and girly console, we’ll be set.
Back in the day you either sat in a cube in front of a computer and secretly looked at porn while your boss was off playing golf with some trophy wife by his side (whom I totally didn’t have sex with, by the way) or you worked with your hands, wrist deep in shit or half-dead from back pain. As time goes on, the line between blue and while collar work has become increasingly thin. Computer engineers particularly require skills of both styles.
This awesome LT-XL Portable Office bag is made with the sky blue worker in mind, splitting the bag into the hardcore tool side, and the slightly less hardcore office supply side. You can also store a laptop and other delicate electronics right in the same bag as you keep assorted screwdrivers, which really cuts down on the man power. Even if my NES were still around, I doubt it would work. There’s something about sitting around in a dusty closet that doesn’t work well with the functioning hardware of gaming consoles. But don’t let it’s inability to work get you down. There are still plenty of possibilities.
The NEStickle is a Sanwa joystick, including buttons, built right inside of an old defunct NES console. The stick with compatible with Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and even Windows, Mac and Linux machines. While the NEStickle is certainly not the most space conscious gadget, if nothing else it’s an awesome example of console recycling.

Here’s a cheap way to create your very own sleek iPhone stand using an old Mini DV case. Creator Elam Nikserof added a coat of satin enamel paint and cut out a notch out of the case so he could still access the iPhone’s home button.
After hours of furious sanding, Nikersof was finally satisfied with the smooth finish, which looks about as soft as silk sheets.
Augmented reality… it doesn’t come cheap, unless you have invention and ingenuity on your side. This crafty cheapskate created his own Augmented Reality Goggles using nothing more than some cardboard and his HTC Magic smartphone, plus a little extra hacking of the Magic’s compass feature and Google Street View.
