Old Bumper Cars Modded Into Street Legal Vehicles

bumper-car

Everybody loves riding the bumper cars. It’s even more fun when you’re with your friends and you get to bash the hell out of them. Not that I would know anything about friends. Do you think I seriously have any time for anyone else but you, sweet sweet reader? *sniff*

But enough sympathy for the lonely, pathetic blogger. Check out these old bumper cars which have been turned into street legal vehicles. I wouldn’t recommend trying to cause fender benders in this bad boy. A crash in this car will be considerably more expensive than a festival ticket or two.

Computer Mouse Cursor GPS Brings Google Maps to Real Life

mouse-cursor-icon-bench

Imagine if we could actually see the cursors being used by everyone checking out Google Maps. The world would be flooded with flags and cursors. Just completely flooded. 4chan would make sure of that.

But since we can’t see every single cursor, we’ll have to settle for just a single spectacle. The Computer Mouse Cursor Bench, officaly called the Urban Cursor project, provides a taste of what could have been, if Google had decided to use a different cursor method than the traditional mouse.

One-Handed Xbox 360 Controller

sc_1

Righties rejoice. Ben Heck has done it again with a brand new mod. This time around the Heck-ster created a one-handed Xbox 360 controller. The addition of a semi-intrusive joystick removes the need for the left side of the controller. An added mechanism on the rear of the controller manages the bumper action.

While it’s not as pretty as some of his past creations, it gets the job done, leaving your left hand free for more important activities. Specifically while playing Tomb Raider. *wink wink* (Yes… masturbation.) Lefties are still left with no hands.

Ramen Restaurant Ran by Robots

ramen-robots1

No, that isn’t just the work of some handy alliteration. Although, this post does happen to be brought to you by the letter “R.”

The Fuamen Ramen restaurant  in Nagoya, Japan is manned by a team of robots who expertly prepare the customers’ bowls of noodles. The owner claims that the benefits of using robots are the consistency of taste and the accuracy in their timing. Just wait until they start adding nuts and bolts to the recipe. Check out a vid and the finished product after the jump.

Mercedes Benz AMG Driving Academy

If you’ve got some extra cash burning a hole in your pocket and you’re a fan of fast, luxurious cars, may I recommend checking out the new Mercedes Benz AMG Driving Academy that’s been set up in Lime Rock, Connecticut and Palm Beach, Florida. For a little under two grand, you can spend a day driving AMG-tuned (sorry, no BRABUS) Mercedes models like the C63, SLK55, SL63, CLK 63 Black Series and the new E63 AMG. People who want the full experience can shell out more cash for a two day program that will have you doing burnouts and spinning across the track all day long. Anyone have $2000 I can borrow?

Twitter From Your Commodore 64

The above video shows a gentleman loading up a Commodore 64 with some software off an old-ass floppy disk. This C64 software is actually homebrew Twitter software used to send tweets. Believe it or not, you can actually tweet (albeit it very slowly) with it. It’s amazing how you can do so much with a C64 and the C64 Ethernet Card. Too bad I have no interest in learning legacy system programming. I have a hunch you feel the same way.
