Realistic Crayola 64 Box Cake Brings the Noms

crayola-crayons-cake

This cake might match its own sweetness with its utter flamboyancy. It’s hard to be taken seriously when you’re decked out in a rainbow pattern, unless you happen to be a Crayola 64 Box, which this cake is expertly modeled after.

Duff Goldman created this amazing cake in honor of 50 years of the Crayola 64 box. I’m just hoping I didn’t miss out. I live minutes from the Crayola Factory. If this cake was there, and I missed it, I’m going to be one pissed off fan of baked goods.

“Audio Grade” Power Socket Will Definitly Put a Dent in Your Wallet

audiograde

For $147.72, audiophiles have another excuse to spend an exuberant amount of money on a “cryogenically-treated, gold-plated” doodad. And the vendor is 100% serious about their “audio grade” label, even going as far as trademarking the term.

But hey, it’s sooo worth it for the perfect sonic experience. Or so the product commenters will have you believe. Apparently “behind acoustic treatment, AC power is the second most under-invested aspect of home theater.” Well, I’ll be. You people will spend money on anything won’t you?

Coming Soon: New Google Music Service

logo

While Spotify has taken the rest of the free world by storm, the U.S. remains without a solution for legally downloading or streaming music. According to several sources, Google is planning on launching a U.S.-bound music service, which might or might not be called Google Audio and might or might not be for downloading or streaming tunes or possibly both.

As you can tell the details are a little muddled, but according to TechCrunch, the launch of a Google Music service is imminent. Google has apparently secured deals with major music labels over the last several weeks to include their tunes in their new service. This might all be conjecture, but I can’t wait to see a working U.S. audio service.

Comb USB Flash Drive Keeps Data and Stray Hairs in Place

comb-usb-flash-drive

It’s hard to keep yourself well-groomed when you’re sitting in front of a computer screen all-day. Sometimes I look in the mirror and jump make in shock. “Who the hell is that grizzly hobo staring back at me?”

This $35 USB Comb Drive gives me an excuse to perform the most basic of hygienic acts, no matter how busy I might pretend to be. Now all I need is a pube trimming mouse.

“I Am T-Pain” iPhone App Lets Anyone Use Auto-Tune

i-am-t-pain-iphone-app

One of my favorite iPhone app developers, Smule, creators of Leaf Trombone and Ocarina, have released their newest app, I Am T-Pain. At first glance, this app might seem like a shameless plug for the T man and his destruction of music, but further research shows that this app seems like a whole lot of fun.

Using the actual Auto-Tune technology created by Antares Audio Technologies, I Am T-Pain lets users sing-along or read-along to T-Pain song lyrics and a few instrumental tracks with the help of auto-pitch correction technology. Users can then post their recordings to Facebook or MySpace. You’ve gotta check the video after the jump to believe it.

CATBUD Headphones Give You Kitty Ears

catbud-earphones

Clearly not for the ardent audiophile, these CATBUD headphones, while likely not offering crystal clear sound, will make you look a little like a kitty cat thanks to the furry ears attached to the set.

If you get really bored on Halloween and find yourself in need of some sort of distraction from all of the greedy candy obsessed kids, just pop the buds in your ears and sail away to the sweet sounds of CAT Stevens. Get it? Get it? Grab your own pair for around $40.

Headphone Jack Plug Necklace

jack-plug-necklace

True audiophiles love everything about the art of music and the process of listening to it. They love to advertise their insane sound prowess, rather it be with snobby and ultra complex non sequiturs or t-shirts advertising their love for sound.

These Jack Plug Necklaces, available in 24-karat gold plating, would surely transmit some awesome audio, if they were made to do so. Instead, they are there just to show people how much you love the sound of a great song on a system which they could only dream of owning.

iPhone Gmail Push Application Now Available

gmail-push

Tiverias Apps has unveiled their new Gmail push application, GPush, which claims to push Gmail e-mail messages directly to the iPhone, instantaneously, compared to waiting for the iPhone e-mail app to refresh.

Users can take advantage of the iPhone’s push notification system, including audio alerts and pop-ups. The app is available in the App Store for 99 cents. But does it actually work? I’ve been waiting for a while for a Gmail push app, so I’ll most likely be taking a look at GPush.

Apple MacBook Touch Details Revealed?

macbook-touch

A reliable source has apparently spilled some details about Apple’s rumored upcoming MacBook Touch. The source touts the Touch as a “fusion” device, combining the worlds of the MacBook and the iPhone with a 9″ touch screen.

An iPhone emulator will allow users to buy and use applications from the App Store. The source claims there will be no camera, which seems slightly unlikely if the Touch is to include iSight, such as the MacBook notebooks do. Apps downloaded on the Touch will be allowed duplication with only the iPhone 3GS, and on only one device per Touch. Hit the jump for more.
