The A-Z of Awesomeness: An Alternative Method of Learning the Alphabet
The future geeks of America are going to have about as much patience to learn in school as a mouse has patience to escape a mouse trap. Technology has minimized patience to a minimum, thanks to the speed of now. So, how are we going to teach future generations the essentials? Such as reading. The A-Z of Awesomeness caught my attention right away, so I just know that a 12-year-old boy would just be sucked right in. Me and my... Continue reading
Lined Paper Pencil Case
Looking for some much needed flash to accompany you in academia? The ultra-realistic Lined Paper Pencil Case is designed to look like a fresh piece of standard lined paper. The only hazard I could find with this case is that it could easily be confused with a stray scrap of paper and chucked into the trash. Just keep an eye on what you’re writing on or your homework might wind up on your case. Link [via]
Leather Bandages: Normal Band Aids Just Aren’t Metal Enough
These bandages take a page right from the book of Stryper, the most metal of metalest bands ever. Battle wounds are part of the metal world. When you have fans throwing broken beer bottles at the stage, it’s sort of difficult not to get a boo-boo every once in a while. But what’s a metal guitarist to do? A simple old band aid won’t cut it. Hell, even duct tape bandages aren’t hardcore enough. These Leather Bandages should fit right... Continue reading

Recycled Plastic Lampshade
Titled “The Renovation Lampshade”, this beautiful design is the creation of Daria Burlinska and Wojtek Traczyk. The team came up with the idea through cast off plastics and organic lines. I think it looks absolutely beautiful, though a bit like crumpled up paper in a waste bin. Link

Blackberry Tour Hits Verizon Next Month
Verizon users are grinning. There’s finally a new phone in the pipes that people will actually want to buy. It’s the Blackberry Tour and it costs as much as an iPhone 3GS and drops July 12th. What’s that magic $199 price tag net you? The Tour of course can do 3G but it also has a nice 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, a 480×360 display, Bluetooth and GPS. While the lack of WiFi is disappointing, it’s hardly surprising for a Verizon... Continue reading
NES Controller iPhone Dock
Heh, you know, this mod is quite pleasant on the eyes despite the lo-tech method it took to make. I mean, you can really turn anything into an iPhone dock by taking an iPod cable, drilling or dremeling out a proper hole for it and running it through the plastic back out to your computer. That’s really all it takes. Sega Saturn dock, anyone? Link
Sony, The PS3 and the Emotion Engine
If you’re one of the lucky people who own a first-gen PS3 model (back when WiFi wasn’t standard and shit), your system has what’s called an Emotion Engine chip. Think of it as an extra heart for your PS3 that allows you to have a full Playstation 2 inside. Sony removed it a few years back to cut costs and now only a very limited number of titles are supported. To boot, Sony is also selling a lot of PSX... Continue reading
