The Robo Urinal Will Hold Your Junk Whilst You Piss

robo-urinal-1

That’s it. I’m done posting. Know why? I have to go and try this baby out. Steve Jobs doesn’t have shit on the Robo Urinal. It can hold your dick while you take a leak, how cool is that? Let’s see the iPhone do that. An app just isn’t going to recreate the experience of a metal hand slowly reaching toward your penis. The jokes could go on, but I’ll save face and stop here.

The Google GDrive Is Most Certainly Real

gdrive-entry-in-google-pack-strings-file

My friends, do you see this image of code? This is code from a JavaScript file included in Google Pack, a suite of Google Apps you can download in one shot. Buried inside the code is a snippet on the oft-rumored GDrive. In case you haven’t heard, GDrive is Google’s way of having you back up all your data to their servers so you can access it from any location, from any device. Quite ambitious, wouldn’t you agree?

Either way, this code tells us that the GDrive is indeed coming, but unfortunately, no date has been set. Will you use Google’s GDrive? Do you think this blurs the line between private data and public data?

Too Creepy: Pharrell Williams Hand Candles

williamscandle1

I’m not too sure how I feel about these realistic-looking candles that are molded after producer/rapper/fashionista Pharrell Williams throwing down Vulcan gang signs. Yes, Vulcan symbols. Odd, right? Even weirder is that these are candles and are limited edition. Who makes a limited edition candle? Do you buy two of each to ensure you can have one to show your kids some day?

I don’t get it. My head hurts.

Bang & Olufsen Debut BeoSound 5

beosound5

Can people actually afford such extravagant luxury during our current economic crisis? Bang & Olufsen seems to think so and is rolling out its new BeoSound 5 luxury audio system today across North America. For the exorbitant price tag of $5900, you get the base system, which will no doubt require additional purchases to make the most out of the unit.

But luxury you will get. A 10.4-inch touchscreen lets you browse your music and create special playlists based on your music collection’s beats and dynamics, similar to iTunes’ Genius feature. There’s also a 500GB hard drive for your tracks, which should be plenty of room. Look for the BeoSound 5 at your nearest upscale mall.

Smash Clock

smash-clock-01

ARE YOU ANGRY? PISSED OFF? TIRED? WANT TO GO BACK TO SLEEP?

Well fuck work. This is the Smash Clock. Hit this fucking thing until it shuts up so you can go back to sleep. You’re probably hungover from Thursday night and don’t feel like doing any work, so this clock is perfect for releasing that pent up rage on.

Too bad it’s a concept. That makes me want to smash it even more.

Afternoon Linkage for January 29th, 2009

Lamborghini Gallardo Raising Hell In The Snow

If you’ve ever seen Fifth Gear, which is essentially a direct copy of Top Gear on the BBC, then you know it’s all about two things: raw power and fast cars. This video is a direct example of that. It features host Tiff Needell taking a bright green Lamborghini Gallardo on to an ice-covered track and lets her rip with traction control both on and off. The results are, understandably, awesome. Whoever gave Tiff carte blanche to fuck with their Lamborghini on a mountain is pretty impressive.

If DaVinci Designed The iPhone…

It’d probably look something like this. $26 on a shirt, $16 for a poster of it.

Lock Up Your Videos! Eclectic Method Is Coming!

eclecmethod1

Mashups. Two songs seamlessly flowing over one another. This is what video-mixup collective Eclectic Method does perfectly. After seeing them multiple times in New York City, I wondered to myself why in the hell I haven’t posted about these dudes yet. Let me break it down for you: RAW MIX POWER. That’s what these guys do. We’re talking music videos mixed into movies with breakbeats, house beats and party beats blasting from every direction. It’s almost too much to handle at times, but the ladies move their asses so everything must be working out.

Eclectic Method’s latest video is a masterpiece of editing. Dubbed “Lock Up Your Videos,” it’s available as donationware, similar to Radiohead’s “In Rainbows” business model. You pay what you think is right for the video, which is about an hour long and full of surprises. If you’re broke, watch it on Eclectic Method’s website for free. Trust me when I say you simply won’t be disappointed with the skills these guys have.

ALSO: If you live in NYC, be sure to stop by WTF NYC tonight, where Eclectic Method will be throwing down an insane 3-hour set of mixin’!
