Refrigerated Sands Of The Palazzo Versace
Richer than Richie Rich? Only one vacation locale comes to mind this year and it’s the refrigerated sands of the Palazzo Versace fashion hotel in Dubai. When walking on hot sand is too much for you and you’re more spoiled than Paris Hilton, why shouldn’t you spend money on the luxury of cool sand? How does one even cool sand? For starters, you’ve got to be rich. Then, you lay a network of pipes beneath the sand containing a coolant... Continue reading
Chromochrome Clock and Light
Here’s a bedside light and clock that looks like something the infamous TokyoFlash would come up with. It’s a clock represented by different colored lights. You read the clock left to right and each different color is a specific number. I’m sure with a little training, you could get it down pat but imagine waking up at 3:27 AM trying to figure out what time it is. Seems like a hassle. At least it makes for great mood lighting. $75,... Continue reading
Crap Console Equals Crap Repercussions
I warned you about the Wii. Some of you listened, most did not. Well, I hope all the Wii owners who couldn’t refrain from calling me a PS3/360 fanboy in the comments all crack their LCD screens while playing sub par games. I’ll be a fan of anything and I mean anything as long as it isn’t the Wii. Look who’s laughing now. Link [via]
iPhone 3G Unlocked By Dev-Team
The original gangsters of unlocking, the iPhone Dev-Team, has finally jailbroken the iPhone 3G through software. Right now, they’re packaging it up for use as a user-friendly application similar to that of Pwnage. Plus, with the recent announcement of the iPhone 3G gift card, people will be able to activate their iPhone 3Gs from home and thus, will be able to jailbreak them and use them with T-Mobile, etc., just like the good ol’ days. Sure, the next software update... Continue reading
Doom On An iPhone With TV Out
iPhone developer Steven Troughton-Smith updated his iPhone port of Doom to not only take advantage of the iPhone’s TV-out features but also utilize its touchscreen as an interface for the game. Why he decided to display the game on an old monochrome Apple II monitor is beyond me. We get it, Steven: you love Apple. For now, there are no plans for adding TV-out to the public Doom build for the iPhone, although Steven says that he’s open to investigating... Continue reading
LED-based Outdoor Walkway
This outdoor walkway, appropriately named CATWALK, illuminates in the night with a bunch embedded LEDs. It’s pretty but it’d be a lot more fun if it played the Right Said Fred song “Too Sexy” when you walked down it. Just sayin’. Link [via]
Socket Deer or Dear Socket?
Here’s another way to clean up that cluttered mess of cords by your power outlet: outlet covers with deer antlers on them for holding gadgets while they charge. They can also be used like the ninja cord bunny and wrap up any loose wire laying around the floor. You could even go the extra mile and hang up your house keys. If you’re feeling extra daring, you could also use the antlers as holders for your silverware. You’re just asking... Continue reading
Turn Your iPhone/iPod Touch Into A MIDI Controller
The best things in life are free, no question about it. But even if it wasn’t free, I’d most likely buy iTouchMidi, a program for both OS X and Windows that will receive MIDI signals from your iPhone or iPod Touch via WiFi. Pretty insane right? Check out what this guy did with two iPod Touches and iTouchMidi software. He uses the touchscreens mounted to his guitar to control Ableton Live and pull off some Brian Eno-type shit. I’d keep... Noby Noby Boy
Noby Noby Boy is the latest upcoming title from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi. It’ll be hitting the Playstation Network in early 2009 and most of us will buy it. Why? You’ll be stretching a colorful rainbow penis around in 3-D space for hours. Twirl it around, make it into a pretzel, whatever. Compete against people online to see who can stretch their penis the longest. Something like that. Either way, 1UP has a hands on preview you’ll want to... Continue reading
