The Death Of Arcade

This is perhaps the most depressing t-shirt design I’ve ever seen. I can’t think of a better time to come across it than right before the New Year. This way, I can wipe the slate clean of any desire to start up my own arcade right here in my own town. This shirt reminds me that no matter how enticing the idea of owning your own arcade is, it will never feed the kids.

Slow Motion Ornithopter

Seeing this video makes me hope that one day I’ll be flying in a giant robotic butterfly. Researchers in Japan are working on this small ornithopter, a flying device with wings that are modeled after those of a butterfly. The idea is to one day have commercial airplanes with flapping-wing flight just like birds.

Above is a high speed video demonstrating the small scale design of the ornithopter. It turns out that the most efficient forward flying wings are wings with micromolded veins flapping at 10 beats per second. I say we just clone ginormous insects and ride them like horses. If only we could get around that gravity thing.

Hooray For A Very Happy Up And Coming New Year Event

Looking for a way to impress all of the females at your New Years party but not tech savvy enough to make your own robot? Well, there will be plenty of champagne at your party, so why not turn those wasted corks into miniature chairs. The girls will think they’re cute and by showing them your creative side — the girls will think you’re cute, too!

Listen, dude. You’ve never had a better shot of getting laid on New Years than today. Heed my advice: buy a boat load of champagne, get everyone drunk and then make these miniature chairs. Coitus will soon follow.

8-Bit Flowerpots

If Mario and Peach settled down one day and bought a castle in the countryside, I’d imagine this is what their garden would look like. Though I’m not sure how Mario would feel about a Piranha plant growing in his own backyard. I would imagine a little fire would take care of the job…

Circuit Board Card Case

The holidays have come and gone but chances are, you still have a few gift cards sitting in your wallet. Speaking of your wallet, we’ve got to talk. It’s simply too ratty and dull for a person of your stature to use for carrying business cards in. Do you want creases and bends all over those beautiful new cards you purchased? Of course not. Plunk down that $25 Amazon gift card you got in exchange for this circuit board card case. It’ll carry all your cards and features an intricate PCB on the outside of it, ensuring your true geek colors shine true and proudly. Just don’t try soldering anything to it; it’s a lost cause.
