Hide a mouse in your laptop’s PCM-CIA slot
Not everybody is happy with the touchpad on laptops. In fact, some would even buy a separate mouse. No matter how compact they are, you’d always need to carry an extra chunk of gear (complete with cables a lot of the time). Wouldn’t it be a great solution to add a detachable mouse to all the laptops? EverGreen Japan seems to have figured it all out with a PCM-CIA slot mouse attachment. Jump to see how it works.
Light CD Tower Adds Glow To Your CD Stand
UK based designer Kwang Hoo Lee (doesn’t sound very British does it?) has presented his Light CD Tower, merging a desk lamp and a disc tower for some optimal space saving goodness. Hitting someone over the head with this thing should probably cause some damage as well. The mash-up of a compact gadget shows that no matter how long you spend on your desk, clicking away on the keys, having everything in one tight bundle is better than a massive... Continue reading
Flux Capacitor Replica Is Back To The Future…Again!

We’re not kidding. This Flux Capacitor Replica is reproduced with full light effects and adjustable power settings, fully capable of being integrated into your very own time machine. Great if you don’t have the cash for your own DeLorean. Even better, you don’t need... Continue reading
Toyota Makes Violin-Playing Robot: Violin Music Still Depressing As Hell
A new addition to the Toyota Partner Robots project, a campaign to integrate robots into everyday life. How a 56 kg violin-playing robot could be useful to us in everyday life is beyond us. In fact, we might even shoot the damn thing since we can hardly stand professional violin playing. Equipped with 17 joints it its legs and arms, the violin bot uses “precise control and coordination to achieve human-like dexterity.” The problem with this is that much music... Continue reading
Windows XP Coming To OLPC In 2008
Microsoft has announced they will be testing out the One Laptop Per Child device with Windows XP, sexing up the current Linux based system. Microsoft hasn’t announced how likely an official Windows version of the OLPC XO device will appear, though if tests are successful we can expect a better idea by the second half of 2008. Adding XP to the XO device would no doubt pump the price of the OLPC project over the sub-$200 price range already selected... Continue reading
Detatched Viewfinder For Detached Photographers
One of the things that holds back most D-SLR cameras is the lack of a built-in on-screen viewfinder. We still have to rely on having the camera right up by our face to snap a shot. The Zigview S2 Digital Viewfinder lets you control the shutter and see what your shooting from a distance. As long as you have a cable that’s long enough, the sky is the limit (if you also have a staircase to heaven.) Thanks to a... Continue reading
How To Make Your Own Tesla Christmas Tree
A Tesla Christmas tree looks really awesome. We didn’t know what we were missing until today, but holy crap. It’s awesome! Using the power of Tesla coils, you too can make your own Tesla powered Christmas Tree. You be the judge from the picture, but doesn’t it look like Santa has put on a few pounds? We knew he was chubby, but he should really cut back on all of those cookies and milk. He’s looking unhealthy. — Andrew Dobrow... Continue reading

BookGem holds your book open for you, keeping it at a readable angle while you enjoy your BBQ ribs. One thing that BookGem doesn’t do is wash your hands for you. So even if you go through all of the trouble to... Continue reading
Tubesradiatori Expandable Radiator: The Home Heating Erector Set
There are few radiators that are worth showing off to your friend. They’re typically boring hunks of metal. There are even less radiators that allow you to build upon with extensions. The Expandable Radiator is like some sort of adult Erector Set, constructing your own design as you go. We’re hard pressed to find any information about pricing or availability, but something tells us this will not be cheap. The cool thing is that you’ll be able to make your... Continue reading
