Hack your iPhone with iPhoneInterface
People moved quick to find the secrets of the iPhone, and luckily, they’ve decided to share the secrets with us. iPhone fans from the irc.osx86.hu channels for the iPhone have developed this Windows and Mac software that allows you to tweak all of the minutiae of the iPhone interface that might cause you grievances. iPhoneInterface allows you to tweak the iPhone’s file system, play with the launch services, and pretty much manipulate the entire feel of the phone. There are... Continue reading
Pencil Jewelry: Don’t sharpen them too much
Designer Gemma Holt showed off her neat Pencil Jewelry at the annual RCA Summer Show. The necklace consists of a series of hexagonal linked pencils which are gold foiled, stamped with her hallmark, and then linked to create a wearable writing utensil. No matter how much the impulse might strike you, we do not recommend wearing sharpened pencils around your neck. So if you have no choice, just leave the writing tool how it is. And yes, the necklace is... Continue reading
Nameless Sony D-SLR might be coming soon
Sony has released (or more officially, has “leaked”) a mysterious photo of a still nameless D-SLR camera that is said to be the next camera in line for Sony’s Alpha line. Sources are reporting that the mystery camera will sport some impressive specs. Supposedly, this elusive monster will pack in 12.8 megapixels, a light sensitivity of up to 3,200 ISO, speeds of 10 frames per second in JPEG mode, and anti-shake protection. Along with the supersized specs, you can also... Continue reading
The safest DIY project ever: The Computer Monitor Fish Tank
How close was this DIYer to having a cathode ray tube expload in his face? Let’s just say closer to the equivalent in exact proportional value of sarcasm in our post title. Yeah, pretty damn close. But was his risk worth it? Take a look at this how-to and decide for yourself. The fish ended up being named Packard, after the hardware brand that will eventually lead to its demise as radioactive rays slowly penetrate its fragile body. Do you... Continue reading
This is my girlfriend, and I’m proud to say she has no respiration
It would be so sad if someone took this pillow too seriously and actually brought it around with them in public and stuff. The Girlfriend Pillow poses as the model upper torso of the female form, latched around your neck in all of its plush affection glee. Wearing a red polka dot bikini top (which would probably have a matching bottom if your “girlfriend” had a bottom), a bracelet, and sexy red nail polish, pillows don’t get much sexier. The... The Treasure Chest PC Case: X marks the motherboard
Supposedly the above Treasure Chest case mod is an actual working modification, but any search on Google results in a lack of real source material. While it would be pretty cool playing around with the captains booty, provided that the captain was a captain-ness, and the booty was actually a round ass, we are hesitant to get our hopes up about the validity of the project. Though would it not be equally cool playing with this treasure chest case? We... Continue reading
Behind the curtain: Transformer toy prototype
An interview with Alex Kubalsky, the Austrailian designer behind this new line of Transformer action figures, reveals the new line of toys with the “Classic Mirage” prototype. The action figure project, which is a joint venture between Japan’s Takarotomy and America’s Hasbro, led to the creation of the Mirage, Bumblebee line of Transformer toys. The Bumblebee figures come sporting a cocky smile on their faces instead of the traditional unconcerned faces of the original Transformer toys. The new line will... Continue reading
iDea: The thinking man’s gadget
Hey, here’s a good idea. Supposedly there was a time when machines didn’t do all of our trivial work or hobbies for us. Pff, as if. Working off of the inspiration of the Hipster PDA and of course, the slickness of Apple (though the logo looks more like a pear) products, meet the iDea. All you have to do is let your mind be inspired and the rest will come naturally. Sure, it might “look” like just pieces of paper... Continue reading
Let’s go surfing now, everybody’s learning how: Surfboard with built-in Radio / GPS
Some of you out there would be out at the beach hitting the waves right now if it wasn’t for one thing. You are scared shitless of drowning! While this surfboard with a special built-in radio and GPS tide warning system can’t perform CPR on you (yet), the board could still save you a few brain cells and high medical bills. The specially made surfboard not only lets fellow surfers interact with each other, sharing information about waves and tides,... Continue reading
Swarovski Crystal iPhone: It was bound to happen eventually
Almost every conceivable gadget has been decked out and covered in Swarovski crystals at one point or another. It was only a matter of time before Swarovski appeared on the iPhone, adding a glitter of stylistic jewelry to an already beyond stylish piece of gadgetry. The website Crystal Icing is offering a service to cover your iPhone with 1500-3000 crystals, depending on your budget and the complexity of the design. Judging by the design of the company website, this is... Continue reading
