The reason why we’re so excited about this “Actface” concept phone is that there is actually a good chance of commercialization, from the past experience of AU Design Project. The very Japanese-looking brush drawing on the background UI will animate in-sync with the keys you press. You can watch the movie here and see for yourself.

For those who don’t know much about the Japanese mobile market, AU (AU by KDDI) is the second largest operator in Japan, and the company was the first to start a design war in the market, by commercializing “impossible” and ultra-sweet-looking concept phones. Catch the jump for more.

Some people love the sleek feel of a Mercedez-Benz under their grips. Hell, even female blues singers want a Mercedes (thanks for that Janis Joplin). Though, what would they think about a Mercedes covered in a pen design.

The Mercedes Pen is covered from hood to ass with a creative pen design, over 6,000 pens glued to this 1981 Benz. Currently the Mercedes Pen car is making rounds around car shows and fairs. There’s even a picture of the car with presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich. — Andrew Dobrow

Steampunk Watch makes you look hard

steampunkwatch.jpg

Check out this fully functional Steampunk designed watch which is equal part jewelery and collectible piece. Looking like something from The Matrix, this Steampunk watch fits around your wrist much like a wristband would, that is if wristbands were made of metal.

In addition to the time piece, the watch also features a compass and of course the bad ass look of metallic wrist wear. Though the watch couldn’t be very comfortable to wear for a sustained amount of time. Though for your next comic book convention, this would be a cool piece of gear to wear. Or to walkout on stage with your Steampunk guitar. (more…)

First Person Pinball allows you to be the ball

furminator.jpg

Pinball is one of those games that will never lose its flare. I remember my dentist’s office had a pinball machine in it to calm us kiddies down. How friggen cool is that? We kinda wish they had a Furminator though, which places the player in a first person prospective.

Sealed off from the rest of the world in a force feedback helmet, the effects of pinball, such as the mechanical noises and the bumper to ball contact produces a secluded gaming environment and a pinball experience like you’ve never seen. — Andrew Dobrow
