As usually is the case, no official confirmation has been announced regarding a business deal between the two companies, but the reported buying price is a cool $75 mill. StumbleUpon remains one of the only social bookmarking sites not to have some controversy or backlash built against them. Let’s hope that along with a new owner, they... Continue reading

Islamic gaming drama: The Koran for gamers

We wouldn’t know first hand, but we are pretty sure that Muslims around the globe hate taking away from their PSP so they can go pray. I mean, let’s be honest, there are some points during a game where pausing is just impossible. The Raise is a service that plans to offer “Islamic content for the PSP”, allowing users to download the Koran onto the gaming handheld among other religious material. No official announcement has been made, but we consider this a done deal. — Andrew Dobrow Link

Lara Croft doll gets a pap smear

Here is a really odd story. Eidos is producing a Lara Croft action figure for little boys to molest. Now, when you think of someone that could model for the doll, you’d think along the lines of say, oh I dunno, Angelina Jolie or someone like that. The tall looks more like Woody Harrelson then anyone else. Maybe even Madusa. But perfect Lara Croft? And call me crazy, but isn’t odd that the majority of the pictures taken are of... I dream of MacTab: The Mac Tablet we’ve been wishing for, in concept design form

If I could have sex with a concept design, this would be the one I would choose. Simple, effective, productive, and sleek are all words which perfectly explain this MacTab tablet design concept from Yann Le Coroller. The MacTab is an ultra-portable, and we mean VERY ultra-portable looking design which integrates a tablet display with a razor thin keyboard. When not in use the keyboard acts as protection for the display, pretty much like a notebook. The keyboard stays in... Continue reading

Timo the Smart Table does it all, well, as far as working surfaces go

With a name like Time the Smart Table, you’d think there would be some automation of robotics involved. Designer Sungho Lee must be confusing versatality with intelligence. But even with its ill-conceived name, Timo is a pretty useful piece of gear, slamming together both a small desk and a T-surface table. Unlike most tables with their one appearance and use, Timo doubles the pleasure and allows for two separate designs and uses in one combo package. Just unfold the hidden... Continue reading
